 General Meeting @ Apr. 1, 2008    

1. Movie Night
Time and place will be announced later. We will be watching Kaze no Tano no Nausica. We couldn't get our first and second choice, so this is our third choice. However, it is the anime that made Miyazaki famous.

2. New Officers

 General Meeting @ Feb. 21, 2008 

1. Movie Night
Although we were going to have a movie night with Asian Presidents Council this semester, we will make our own movie night because of data conflicts. We are going to watch "Bushi no Ichibun" or "Shimotsuma Monogatari".

2. Conversation Table
We have changed Thursdays' Convestion Table time. This starts at 5:45.

 General Meeting @ Jan. 22, 2008 

1. International Week/International Buffet
This will be held at MSC, at the last weekend in Feb. It's a univesity event, and we will be participating in both the booth and the buffet. We need a lot of help from all of you! It's the biggest event of the year for our club, and it has been always fun to participate!

2. BBQ/Dinner
We will have BBQ/Dinner, bring a dish party at the end of March. Details later.

3. Movie Night
We will have the Japanese Film showing with Asian Presidential Council on Apr 22nd. They will reserve the room, and advertised well. We must decide the title by Feb 10th. Please let me know if you have a movie that you want to watch!

4. Conversation Tables
We have two sessions! Come talk in Japanese or in English!

Mondays @ Coffee Station starts 7:30
Thursdays @ MSC Flag Room starts 5:00

5. New Officers
We have two new officers! John and Kevin! They will be our new hopes for the future of our club! Thank you!

6. T-shirts
You can get T-shirts soon. We are going to sell them on I-Week.

That's it for now! We should have the next meeting in Mid Feb, we plan some Japanese games and activities.

 General Meeting @ Oct. 22, 2007 

1. T-shirt
See the following image.This will be at the back (without the words). Because this is a rough sketch, we will make some improvements. We will decide on the colors later. In front it will say, Texas A&M University in Japanese.

--- The Moon and the mountain represnets "motion vs stillness" The Sword and Cherry blossom represents "strength vs Beauty" as well as "male vs female." The movement of the tail and the cherry blossoms represents the union of all these elemensts in addition to the harmony of nature and material world.

2. Movie Night
We will be watching "Kid's Return" It is directed by Kitano Takeshi, so we might expect some violence, but it has a good reviews. Should be a good one!

3. Next Meeting
At the weekend before Thanksgiving, we will have the next General Meeting combined with a Food Party! Bring your best dish! More details on this later. Thank you very much for those who showed up, as well as those who voted in advance. And for those who didin't, see you at the Movie Night!

P.S. We encourage people to attend the conversation tables held at Mondays at Coffee Station (Next to Tap) @ 7:30-, and at Fridays at MSC Flag-Room @ 5:30-.

 General Meeting @ Sep. 5, 2007 

1. Japan Club! We are open to anyone! We are a group of people who is interested in Japanese culture, language, etc. Also, we help Japanese students to get used to the community. We provide opportunity to make new friends.

2. This semester, we plan to have BBQ, International Buffet, Movie Night. We are also open to any suggestion for activities.

3. We will be making Club T-Shirts.

Randy Sasaki4. Conversation Table.This is where you can practice your Japanese skills. There will be at least one or two native Japnese speaker there. The first meeting will be next Wednesday from 7:30. We are not officially set for time, but considering having the table on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday (like 1.3.5th Monday of the Month and 2.4th Wednesday) WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE SCHEDULE LATER. Also, I would like to have an "unofficial" conversation table on Friday 5:30 at Flag Room. I will try and be there every Friday, but cannot gurantee that (but I will be there this Friday (7th)for sure.For Japanese Memebers! I encourgae you to attend these conversation tables. It is a good opportunity to practice English, and an opportunity to meet new friends as well! Also, there's a disocunt on coffee!

5. Our Treasure (One of the officer), Hiromi is steeping down form the office. She worked as a Vice-President before, and worked hard for our club. Thank you! We need someone to take over her place. If you are interested, please let me know.

6. BBQ! We will have it next Friday! on Campus on the 14th. I will send you an separate E-mail later with detail later.
